INGRID SPELLMIRE
PROOF OF LIFE
Blinking since -2, this vitals detector of Friedrich's own design has fascinated many who wonder what truly became of Ingrid after she entered the prototype Spellmire Gate...
UNKNOWN AUTOMATON
This mysterious artifact is thought to be the last known work of Friedrich Spellmire. Composed of an alloy science has yet to replicate, its purpose has eluded historians for centuries.
Competing Perspectives
By the 5th century, attitudes on the Era of Magic were shifting. Some, like artist Margit Lauterbach who painted Durch das Tor (left), expressed a subversive nostalgia and, perhaps, regret for what had become of the dragons' Isles. In contrast, Unermessliches Leid (right), by Sivert Skauge and commissioned by Jarl Haltvik, employed novel artistic techniques to cement the message that there could be no return to the catastrophic days of wizard rule.
It was the latter sentiment that won out. However, this rediscovery of such compelling and evocative historical subjects resulted in a cultural appreciation for the old Era, inspiring literary fiction, artistic trends such as Expressionism, philosophy of being, and with 9th century advancements in technology, films, computerized experiences, and even tabletop games!
